Elderly Queensland man stranded in NSW collapses after heartbreaking TV interview
A 71-class-old Queensland man who is recovering from heart surgery collapsed after a Television interview where he detailed his stress and frustration of being ineffectual to restitution home base to Queensland due to border restrictions.
Ronald Renwick appeared on Channel 7's Sunrise in the first place this hebdomad to share his frustrations about being knocked back past Queensland wellness officials in his request to return home to Queensland.
Desperate and distressed, Mr Renwick told Sunrise reporter Bianca Stone that atomic number 2 feared that the stress of this situation – coupled with his heart surgery – would result in his death.
Only minutes after the interview, Mr Renwick became unsteady on his feet while crossing the road earlier loss out.
According to reporter Bianca I. F. Stone, Mr Renwick was overcome with the fear of running out of money and he could none longer afford to cover the cost of a hotel.
Hammy footage of the retiree's collapse was captured by Sunrise tv camera's and SM Lucy Stone can be seen comforting the man as police and paramedics checked connected his condition.
Mr Renwick unfit in and out of self-conscious pain and continuing to "rationalise for making a scene" while he put away on the ground.
"On that point is no doubt the large legal age of Queenslanders agree with Queensland's tough border stance, we are virtually COVID free, but what is happening here at the border can't be unnoticed," Ms Stone told her Sunrise colleagues.
"There's no doubt the exemptions team is working really concentrated happening this guys, but there needs to be more cooked, these are human lives and it's not just a simple tick and motion-picture show," Stone said.
Mr Renwick claims that Queensland Health told him that he could only re-enter Queensland via shave, scorn being medically unable to fly out-of-pocket to his pith status.
Thankfully, Queensland Health has since said that they will exercise to grant Mr Renwick a special freedom, indicative that he may take in at the start applied for the wrong drop dead.
Mr Renwick is sick well at John Lynn Hospital.
